Pre-hack Information
Dear QUEEN CITY hackers,
QUEEN CITY <hack> is this Saturday! We hope you are ready to hack out solutions for one of our civic partners: Regina Public Library, Regina Downtown BID, or Regina Warehouse District! Problem statements for each organization will be sent out later on in the week.
We are extremely happy to see that you have registered online and wanted to share some day-of details with you. See below!
Judges
We are excited to announce our three judges! They will be in charge of judging your completed projects based on technical innovation, impact, and marketplace deliverability.
- Jean-Charles Sisk, Director of Technology at GasBuddy
- Kim Schmidt, Social Media Officer with Regina Police Services
- Gregory Moore, Marketing Executive at Look Agency Inc.
Full judging criteria will be announced at the event, and will be made available on a shared Google Drive for your reference during the hackathon.
Prizes
We’re also thrilled to announce our prizes, made possible by our awesome sponsors -- Outlaw Trail Spirits, Globe Theatre, Malty National Brewing Corp., Famoso Hill Centre, Comicreaders South, Escape Manor, Bushwakker Brewpub, Compugen, and Uforia Muse!
- First Place: Gold Medal, $100 Gift Card for each team member, and swag pack for team
- Second Place: Silver Medal, $75 Gift Card for each team member, and swag pack for team
- Third Place: Bronze Medal, $50 Gift Card for each team member, and swag pack for team

Before the Event
We’ll be providing you with power, Wi-Fi, food and drink, but you will still need to bring a few things:
• Your laptop
• Mobile device, if creating a mobile app
• Cables, chargers and connectors for any of the above
• Data sticks are not necessary but could be handy, in case of any Wi-Fi trouble
During the Event
We’ll be serving breakfast, lunch, and supper throughout the event. If you have a food restriction or allergy, please contact Chelsea at cgrumbly@gasbuddy.com.
After the Event
After the presentations have been judged and awards have been given out, the party will continue upstairs in the GasBuddy office! We’ll be serving pizza, handing out drinks, and having a grand ol’ time. Everyone is encouraged to join! *Always plan a safe ride home. If you plan on having a drink or two, cab vouchers will be available for you to use!*
